Comedian and The Last Leg host, Adam Hills, still reflects fondly on his first time working at the TV WEEK Logie Awards - even if it didn't go quite according to plan.
"My favourite memory is from my first-ever Logies in 2005, when I was put backstage to interview people for the TV broadcast," Adam, 42, says. "Nobody knew who I was or what I was doing there. I thought my first interview went well because I got a laugh from the presenters waiting backstage, but afterwards, I found out that my mic wasn't on so nobody knew what I was doing. They just laughed because my mic wasn't on.
"Luckily, the second interview I did was with Kathryn Morris from Cold Case. I got some laughs and felt I was finally a part of the Logies."
Last year's winner of the prestigious Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter needed little time to think of his favourite personalities from previous shows.
"For me, it has to be Andrew Denton as my all-time favourite host and Bert Newton as best presenter. A few years ago, Bert came out to present the Gold Logie and his arrival in the room was a moment," the former Spicks And Specks host recalls.
