Australia’s own Dami Im has made it through to the grand final of the Eurovision song contest in Stockholm.
The former X-Factor winner was selected to progress after her stellar semi-final performance singing her power ballad “Sound Of Silence”.
Dami won enough votes from Eurovision fans and music juries across 42 competing countries to clinch a spot in Sunday’s final.

The 27-year-old, who wowed in a dramatic shimmering gown, broke into excited celebrations after the announcement holding aloft the Australian flag.
Brisbane-based Dami revealed to TV WEEK recently that she would be thinking of her husband Noah while performing the song which she said was “about being away from my loved one”.
“I’m always on the road and he’s in Brisbane because of his job. So I talk to him from hotel rooms. I feel the distance,” she says.
Dami is now up against 25 contestants from around the globe including, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Israel, Russia, Croatia, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands and United Kingdom.
She is Australia’s second entrant to Eurovision, following Guy Sebastian, who placed fifth last year with his song “Tonight Again”.
Unlike Guy, who was guaranteed a place in the grand final as a welcoming gesture of goodwill to Australia, Dami had to fight for her place in Sunday’s final.
The Eurovision Grand Final airs live this Sunday May 15 at 5am on SBS and will be repeated that night at 7:30pm.
